He has the rare ability to creatively negotiate and bring together the right set of people from his network to make headways while putting together deals for his businesses, social initiatives and his clients. Recently, he has formed a team of Entrepreneurs & Expert Advisors, along with support from various Australian government bodies to facilitate investments in startups managing to raise A$5 Million from Private Investors and Family Of ces to invest in Australian Startups. Started as a pilot project, it will be further scaled up to invite more Private & Angel Investors and Family Of ces to facilitate investments in the burgeoning Indo-Australian Startup ecosystem.
An Adventurist, Nishant is an avid motorcyclist, a top in uencer in the Indian pro-cycling community and a TEC-40 scuba diver. In 2016 he set an international record in extreme adventure as the ‘World’s Fastest & Asia’s Deepest Scuba Cyclist’ having cycled 100m underwater at a depth of 32.7m (107ft) on the ocean oor in 6 mins & 47 secs, combining his passion for cycling and scuba diving. The Asia Book of Records, The Limca Book of Records and India Book of Records recognized him for this record-making achievement.
As a Director of Startups and Director of Tourism with the Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO), Nishant leads initiatives to promote Indian Startups across the globe and develop a Startup ecosystem between India and various emerging economies to mentor founders, help raise funds, support business development, etc. He also leads and develops initiatives to promote Tourism between countries, working with various Tourism Boards and related government authorities across Africa, South America, East Europe and the Indo-Paci c. IETO conducts trade and commerce relations with various countries and India. IETO with its ambitious and inclusive framework that applies long-standing, high-standard trade principles to global trade addresses commercial barriers, enable networking, provide inter-operability and standards, apply existing norms to new technologies and facilitate greater global participation in the global economy. Moral and intellectual integrity is at the heart of everything we do. IETO functions with its Secretariat in India through its independent advisory committee. IETO has led various delegations to different countries and its an endeavor towards building India’s bilateral relations for promoting trade and commerce as a non-pro t entity. IETO is administered by an International Governing Board, comprising of members of repute, who determine the governance and nature of the Institute’s activities within the framework of the general policy of IETO to promote India’s bilateral trade and commerce. As an independent organization the IETO represents the interest of its members through lobbying, collaboration and facilitation.
As a Social Entrepreneur, Nishant is a Founder & Trustee of the ‘Equal Streets Mumbai,’ an initiative that won India’s rst “Walking Visionary Jury Prize in 2015” at The Walk21 conference in Vienna, Austria. Equal Streets is an innovative concept based on a unique non-pro t model to correct the fundamental imbalance in our city’s urban planning priorities that has led to an encroachment of the footpaths and public spaces that were marked for pedestrians. Every Sunday, one side of a 6km-stretch suburban road in the heart of the city is closed for vehicular traf c for 4 hours and thrown open to the public for various social and tness activities. It drew a participation of 20,000 people on Day-1 and rose to 100,000+ from the next Sunday onwards purely on one thought on the participant’s minds – FREEDOM. It became an initiative involving In uencers, the Mumbai Police & Municipal Corporation, local businesses & clubs, etc. This initiative later became a template to replicate in other parts of the country, although not to the same level as Equal Streets Mumbai.
A Program Director with the Australia Alumni Association – Mumbai Chapter, formed under the direct supervision of the Australia Alumni Association India, the Australian Consulate in India & the Australian Trade Commission in India with a mission to bridge Indian and Australian students, entrepreneurs and investors through the Universities and Businesses. Nishant is responsible to host Australian dignitaries and sportsmen for networking events such as Alumni Trade Networking, CSR, cultural exchange programs, etc. Nishant is also a key member of the Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce.

As a former Managing Director of SK Group of Companies, founded in the 1950s as an FMCG Distribution provider, under his command the Group became one of the fastest growing logistics partner for top FMCG companies in India such as Britannia Industries Ltd, Britannia Cheese, Cadbury India, Kellogg India Ltd., Marico, Amul India and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. The company became a market leader earning top sales awards. Set a National Record and won the ‘Outstanding Business Excellence’ award for their contribution to control cost in distribution logistics from Britannia Industries Ltd in the year 2012. As a student in Australia, Nishant worked as a Perishables Manager at Woolworths Limited and as a Store Manager at K-mart. After completing his education in Australia and the USA, he then returned to India and started his entrepreneurial journey by joining his family business in FMCG Distribution, working his way up from the bottom driving delivery trucks, making sales calls to becoming the Managing Director leading a team of 500+ employees. Under his leadership, the company became the fastest growing logistics partner for top FMCG companies in India with Britannia Industries Ltd, Britannia Cheese, Cadbury India, Kellogg India & Kraft India as his clients. The company became a market leader earning top sales awards.
